Shirley R. Townsend

Shirley R. "Buddy" Townsend, 81, of Middletown died on January 4, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Middletown, on March 21, 1930 to parents Lemon and Ruby (Burgher) Townsend. Shirley served his country in the United States Army from 03/12/1957 to 05/11/1959.

Mr. Townsend was an Instrument Technician for the Sorg-Bay West Paper Company. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #159 of Camden.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Don & Skippy Townsend.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Bowman) Townsend; son, Harold (Mary) Townsend, daughter: Melissa Townsend and son, James Townsend; one grandchild and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2012 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park on Monday, January 9, 2012.
