Shirlin "Red" Butler, 95, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Cottonwood Point, Missouri on July 19, 1927 to parents, Edgar and Lillie (Wiznar) Butler.
Red had worked for General Motors at their Harrison Radiator plant, retiring after 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Germany during World War II, and he took the Honor Flight in May of 2010. Red graduated from seminary on May 29, 1967 and went on to spread the gospel by serving as Pastor of many churches and missions. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved to fish.
Red is survived by his son, Bill (Tanya) Butler; sister, Mary (Marlin) Lang; five grandchildren, Paula (Morgan) Butler, Tina (Randy) Fenton, Brandi (Bill) Noe, Emilee (Brian) Trester & Dallas Butler; seven great grandchildren, Paul Hoskins, Daniel Hoskins, Jarred (Kaitlyn) Fenton, Josh Fenton, Lincoln Noe, Ellee Trester & Elijah Trester; and many other loving family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jewel D. (Jackson) Butler; son, Paul Butler; daughter, Lillie Butler; parents; and ten siblings.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown with Pastor Wayne Pendleton officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at North Monroe Cemetery with military honors presented by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
