Susan Elizabeth (Kelly) Mayberry, passed away March 25, 2023 in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on August 29, 1954. Susan was a 1972 graduate of Fenwick High School and attended Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. Susan had a passion for caring for others, especially her brother Jimmy. During her career she managed multiple group homes and worked as a Job Placement Coordinator for Abilities First. In 1984 Susan and her husband George started a bowling league for athletes with special needs. They did this every Saturday for 25 years. Susan was involved with Butler County Special Olympics for most of her life. It started with a passion for finding activities for her brother. She soon then became a volunteer, coach and director. Susan always loved playing cards, bingo and having a coffee with friends. Most importantly Susan’s love for her family had no end. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her loving and devoted husband of forty years, George; daughters, Robin (Norman) Cassell of Wilmington, Ohio, Kelly Lawson Middletown, Ohio and Angela (Jack) Allen of Land O’Lakes, Florida. Also, surviving are her precious grandchildren, Kayla Gill, Darcie (Jacob) Kunka, Tynon Lawson (Brittany), Sylena Baltazar, Kellen Baltazar, Benjamin Allen and Emilee Allen as well as her great-grandchildren, Adelyn Champion, Azura Lawson and Artist Lawson.
She was predeceased by her parents Helen and James Kelly and her dear brother, Jimmy Kelly.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, May 5th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown and memorial service at 11:00 am with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. She will be put to rest at Woodside Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life following the cemetery at Central Connections, 3907 Central Ave., Middletown Ohio 45044.
