She opens her arms to the poor, and extends her hands to the needy. ~ Proverbs 31:20
Our beloved, Teresa Schofield, age 101, of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, April 22, 2020 at her residence in Ohio Living Mt. Pleasant.
Teresa was born on October 25, 1918 in New York, New York to loving parents, Antonio and Emeila (Lenti) Zampatti. Teresa was preceded in death by her devoted and godly husband, Reverend James B. Schofield; parents; sister, Anna Dion; brother, John Zampatti; and niece, Joyce Ann Zampatti.
Baptized at a tender age, the wife of a minister and teacher in the church, Teresa was like a guardian angel for many-devoted to serving the Lord through love and deeds. She provided a safe haven to those without a home. She extended her hands to feed the poor, and her feet to walk alongside her friends and those in need. Teresa was an excellent steward of her God-given gifts and used her resources wisely. Her life was fully-given to His Word and her heart to daily prayer. With Teresa's passing, this world lost an angel, but Heaven gained a saint.
Teresa is survived by her nephews, John (Beverly Robertson) Zampatti and Ricardo (Susie) Zampatti; great nephews, Jonathan Zampatti and Lucas McCoy; great niece, Avery Zampatti; and devoted godsons, Ron Cere and Paul Cere. Teresa will be remembered with love by those as close as family - Kyle Smith, Stephanie Smith, Cameron Smith, Jeff Pinegar and Katina Dezarn. Her many friends at Ohio Living Mount Pleasant, Monroe Presbyterian Church and those in the community who were truly blessed by her cheerful contenance and generous giving will miss her dearly.
The Memorial Service will be announced in the near future. In lieu of sending flowers, may Teresa's family and friends continue her legacy by extending their hands and resources to those in need throughout their communities, churches, and missions.
