Thelma Geneva Schrock, 84, of Monroe, Ohio, died on July 25, 2004, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Xenia, Ohio on February 24, 1920 to parents Asa B. and Pearl (Jackson) Humston.
Mrs. Schrock was a graduate of Miamisburg High School and the St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio. She worked for 20 years as the supervisor of the emergency room at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was past Worthy Matron of Ida Morningstar Chapter Order of Eastern Star and was active in civic and social groups in Middletown and Monroe.
Thelma is survived by a daughter, Diana L. (James) Howell of Cumberland, MD; a son, Preston A. Schrock of Middletown, OH; five grandchildren, Melissa, Andrea, Emily, Jennifer, & Ryan; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Zachary, & Brooke; and a brother, Asa A. Humston.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Homer Joseph Schrock; her parents; and a brother, Charles Humston.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 29, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Amanda United Methodist Church, 1315 Oxford State Rd., Middletown, with Reverend Leroy Chambliss officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Mennonite Cemetery in Trenton.
