Thelma M. Spivey

Thelma M. Spivey, 86, of Middletown, Ohio, died on April 29, 2005, at Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was born in London, Kentucky on August 13, 1918 to parents John and Ida (Rush) Hampton.

Thelma is survived by one daughter, Mary Ellen Sargent of Stamping Ground, KY; three sons, Clyde (Joyce) Shaffer and Rick (Sharon) Shaffer both of North Vernon, IN, and John Hume; a brother, William Hampton of New Jersey; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. Shaffer; her parents; a brother, Fred Hampton; and sisters, Dora Back, Verna Donathon, Eva Hampton, and Lorine Capozzi.

Visitation will be Monday, May 2, 2005 from 1-2 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, OH with a graveside service following at Woodside Cemetery with Reverend Darrel Taylor officiating.
