Theresa C. Young

Theresa C. "Tess" Young, 98, peacefully passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Martha Seibold; her sister, Bee Young; her brother, Jake Seibold; and her loving husband, Ray in 1986.

Tess graduated from Middletown High School and Christ Hospital School of Nursing. She was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Middletown for 96 years. Through those years she served her church faithfully in various capacities, including being a Sunday School teacher, choir member, food pantry helper and active in the Women's Society, serving as a circle leader four times plus as the local president and district president for two terms. She was also active in the community, donating her time to the Clothing Depot for 25 years, a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Women's Club, Treble Clef Chorus, Century Club, Christian Women's Club, Friends Through True Fellowship Club, Grandmother's Club and Council of Church Women United. She and her husband helped deliver meals for 15 years for Meals On Wheels. Her interests were always her family, her church and the community. She also enjoyed reading and writing poetry.

She will be lovingly missed by her family; her children, Saralyn (Kelly) Christy; Dave (Dee) Young and Sue (Jack) Diefenbach; 9 grandchildren;15 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 120 S. Broad Street, Middletown with Reverend Dean Penrod officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
