Thomas E. Haney, 75, of Middletown, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. He was born in Middletown on March 28, 1928 to Edward and Olive (Reese) Haney.
Mr. Haney worked as a finance manager for Armco Steel Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He served his country in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 218. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #257. One of his hobbies was singing, which he enjoyed doing with the Mid-Chord Quartet, the Eddie Howard orchestra, & the Elk-tones.
Thomas is survived by, three daughters, Mary Ellen (Dan) Borders of Middletown, OH, Sue Haney of San Diego, CA, and Sherry (Mike) Michalak of Maineville, OH; one son, Martin Haney of St. Petersburg, FL; one sister, Eileen Mann of Milwaukee, WI; one brother, John (Penny) Haney of Middletown, OH; and grandchildren, Jenny & Melissa Borders, Heather Haney, and Mike & Steve Michalak.
He was preceded in death by his wife Johanna “Honey” Haney on December 28, 2001; and his parents .
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Hurlburt and Dr. Avera and to the nurses and aides at Willow Knoll.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 15, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
