Thomas V. Moon

Thomas V. Moon, 93, of Middletown, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home. He was born in Middletown on January 28, 1922 to parents Vernon J. and Hilda (Nagle) Moon.

Tom graduated from Middletown High School in 1940 and went on to graduate in 1948 from Otterbein College where he received his BA in Business Administration and was a member of Pi Kappa Phi. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 96th Infantry, serving in Leyte Island and Okinawa, Japan and receiving two Bronze Stars. Tom was the one of the owners of Moon & Adrion Insurance Agency for 66 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Middletown Independent Insurance Agents Association, the Ohio Independent Insurance Agents Association and the Professional Insurance Agents Association where he served as Treasurer. Tom was also a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and a Trustee. He was a former member and past president of Forest Hills Country Club, past president of Middletown Safety Council and a member The Nomads. Tom was very involved with Abilities First where he and Charlotte chaired several fund raisers.

Mr. Moon is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Leighton) Moon; daughter, Deborah E. (Craig) Salser; son, Craig T. (Melanie) Moon; and grandchildren, Talbott C. (fiancé, Saralyn Moore) Moon, Adria E. Moon and Molly E. Salser.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Charles W. Moon.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 2910 Central Ave., Middletown with Reverend Greg Gibson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
