Salvatore “Tony” Accurso, 88, of Middletown, died on Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 22, 1914 to Rosario and Maddalena (Stella) Accurso.
Tony worked for Aeronca, Inc. for 42 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, the Knights of Columbus #1610, Aeronca Managment Club, and Junior Achievment. He was an honorary member of the Order of the Sons of Italy in America #2142.
Tony is survived by one daughter, Annette Accurso of Middletown; two sons, Donald (Andria) Accurso of Middletown, and Dan (Debra) Accurso of Springfield, OH; sisters-in-law, Margaret Braun and Marie Hardman; and a special friend, LaVerne Ober.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn W. Accurso, his parents, brothers Vincent & Peter Accurso, and sisters, Mamie Vitello & Kathryn Kuss.
The family wishes to extend their special thanks to the caregivers at Towne Point and to the nurses and staff of Middletown Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be sent to Bishop Fenwick High School Building Fund, 3800 Manchester Rd., Middletown, OH 45042.
