Twyla M. Williams, 89, of Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community, passed away peacefully early on New Year's Day at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on November 6, 1925 to parents Henry E. and Thelma Fern (Smith) Baker.
Twyla was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene, serving with multiple ministries including Sunday School teacher, board member, and as local & district missionary president. Her gifts of leadership, compassion & hospitality were evident to all. Twyla was an accomplished wedding cake decorator as a ministry to young brides. She also loved crafts & sewing.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Raymond F. Williams; four children, R.T. (Leah) Williams, Brad (Lorie) Williams, Michelle Donders & Curtis (Cindy) Williams; brother, Carl Baker; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Monroe Baker & brother, Jerry Baker.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and Monday prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Nazarene Missions International, 17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, Kansas, 66220.
