Vera Marie Beck

Vera Marie Beck, 85, of Monroe, longtime resident of Norwood, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Normal, Illinois on September 30, 1924 to parents Leslie and Iona (Hargis) Harmon.

Vera was a lifetime Christian and enjoyed sewing and reading.

Mrs. Beck is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Tom) Beatty; step son, Stan (Ann) Beck; brother, Carl (JoAnn) Harmon; three grandchildren, Jill (Bill) Boughton, Greg (Pam) Courts and Kendra (Greg) Ratliff; three step grandchildren, Melissa (Cliff) Schaney, Tanya (Keith) Snelling and Shelly Beatty; 10 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Mt. Pleasant, Anderson 2 and the Senior Independence Hospice.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
