Vera Neu Harmon, 86, a three year resident of The McAuley in West Hartford, Connecticut, died with her family at her side on Mother's Day, Sunday. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Clara Neu. She resided in Stamford, CT for 39 years prior to moving to West Hartford. She was a member of St. Gabriel's parish in Stamford, and a long time volunteer for the Aid to Retarded Children. Vera was an avid bridge player, a wonderful friend, and a loving mother. She touched the lives of those who knew her with her generous spirit and sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Lawrence Howard Harmon, Sr. She leaves her nine children and their families, Lawrence Howard Harmon, Jr. and his wife Neena, Cathleen Harmon, Beverly Scharper and her husband J. Ernest, Charlotte Hickey and her husband Thomas, Joseph Harmon and his wife Lois , Amy Jones and her husband David, John M. Harmon and his wife Margaret Ann, James Harmon and his wife Linda, and Thomas Harmon and his wife Donna. Vera also leaves her 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Mary Neu Reardon. She was predeceased by her five brothers, Charles Peter Neu and his wife Evelyn Marie, George Neu and his wife Jean, John Neu, Mark Neu and his wife Betty and her infant brother Edward. She was also predeceased by her sister Mary Reeder and her husband Herbert.
Father John Kroeger will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
