Vernell Morningstar

Vernell Morningstar, 75, of Monroe, died Friday, February 10, 2012, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on May 17, 1936 to parents Raymond and Atha (Quicksell) Perry.

Vernell retired in 2010 from Kohl's, Monroe where she worked in security. She also formerly worked 25 years at Champion Paper and 13 years at Gambro Dialysis. She was a member of the Middletown Eagles Aerie 3458, Middletown Moose Lodge #501, and the Fraternal Order of Orioles.

Ms. Morningstar is survived by her sons, Steven Morningstar and David Morningstar; daughter, Melinda Hoffman; step sister, Priscilla Perry; step brother, Danny Ray Perry; grandchildren, Jonathan Morningstar, Christy Morningstar and Charles (Kim) Hoffman; three great grandchildren, and special friend, Helen Jolliff.

Vernell was preceded in death by her parents and step mother Mina Perry; step brother, Jerry Perry; grandson, Andrew Hoffman and former husband, Robert E. Morningstar.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
