Victor L. Thomas, 89, of Monroe, died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Otterbein at Middletown. He was born in Red Lion, Ohio on February 18, 1924 to parents James Henry and Maude (Amburgey) Thomas.
Victor worked in employee relations at Miami University for 20 years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that he had worked at Aeronca for 19 years. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his sons, Daniel (Gail) Thomas & David (Terry) Thomas; daughter, JoEllen Rogers; sister, Phyllis (Marvin) Clark; and grandchildren, Chad Rogers, Victoria Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas, Adam Thomas, Shannon Thomas & Lauren Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Thomas; parents; sister, Edna Fitzgerald; and brothers, Edward Thomas & Paul Thomas.
A Celebration of Life Reception will be held Saturday at 12:00 Noon at First Baptist Church, 4500 Riverview Ave., Middletown. Graveside service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00 am at Springboro Cemetery, 2348 Lower Springboro Rd. with Chaplain Karen Fleming officiating and military honors will be conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, Ohio 45050.
