Virgil D. Daniel

Virgil D. Daniel, age 89, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening, October 30, 2007. He was born July 26, 1918, in Thelma, Kentucky. Virgil retired from Mead Corporation in 1983. A longtime resident of Norwood, Ohio, he and his wife relocated to the Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village, Monroe, Ohio, in 1987.

Mr. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Sallie (nee Ward) Daniel; brothers Jewel Ray and Asa B.; and sister Opal Marie Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Warren (nee Morris); a sister, Ena Mae Childers (and Martin) of Thelma, KY; sister-in-law, Donna Marie Neu also of Mt. Pleasant Village; son Virgildee (and Louise nee Vetter), Major, U.S. Army (retired), of North Olmsted, Ohio; and daughter Linda Carol Wright (and William) of Norwood, Ohio. He has seven adult grandchildren, Virgil Dean, Troy Basil, Kendra Louise, Veronica Christine, Katrina Marie (SSgt, USAF) Daniel and Cedric Barrett (a veteran of the Iraq war) and April Demelza Wright; four great grandchildren, Logan, Molly, EmmaRose and Lorelei; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 12:00 NOON at the Monroe Presbyterian Church, 57 West Elm Street, Monroe, Ohio, 45050. Interment was at North Monroe Cemetery.
