Virginia C. Monroe, 95, of Middletown, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at home. She was born in Louisiana, Missouri on September 10, 1916 to parents, John B. & Floy (Horton) Carroll.
Virginia worked as an employment interviewer for the Ohio State Employment Office for 16 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Monroe is survived by her children, Kay (Darrell) Wilson & Craig (Debbie) Monroe; brother, John (Joan) Carroll; sister, Dorothy Eaton; two grandchildren, Kristian (Jennifer) Wilson & Kerrick (Carole) Wilson; and six great grandchildren, Knox, Jonah, Kerriston, Luke, Joel & Lydia Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Monroe in 2010; parents; and sisters, Mildred Stephens, Rosemary Broadway & Eleanor Calhoun.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend John Wagner, Reverend Paul Mills and Reverend David Hilton officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
