Walter “Bo” Fall, 89, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away October 24, 2004, at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville, TN. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on September 21, 1915 to parents Alfred and Ida (Guiler) Fall.
Mr. Fall was a lifelong resident of Middletown, until 1999 when health concerns forced a move to be near family in Tennessee. Known by friends and family as “Bo”, he grew up in the farming community near Jacksonburg, Ohio and started his career as a farmer, eventually renting one of the Armco Steel Co. farms. He became Farm & Park manager in 1945, managing several Armco farms, as well as Armco Park on Manchester Rd. When the park closed, he became outside grounds superintendent, overseeing the grounds maintenance at Armco´s General Office. He also worked in the real estate division maintaining transferee homes in Armco´s inventory. He retired in 1980. Mr. Fall was a member of Elks Lodge 257 and Blue Ball Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Fall was married 66 years to the former Edna Long Fall of Middletown. He is survived by a daughter, Dottie (Wayne) Metcalf of Gallatin, TN; a son, David (Linda) Fall of Oak Ridge, TN; four grandchildren, J.B. Metcalf of Franklin, OH, Jennifer Keil of Hendersonville, TN, and Chris & Sara Fall of Oak Ridge, TN; as well as several nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Edna; his parents; and a sister, Mary Stone.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 29, 2004 at 11:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Reverend Robert Clark and Wayne Metcalf officiating. Visitation will be Friday, prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
