Wanda Lee Fening

Wanda Lee Fening, age 76, passed away Sunday, September, 18, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She leaves a legacy of love, generosity, and humor for those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born in New Boston, OH, Wanda was happily married for 43 years to Dr. Walter Fening, who passed away in 1992. They had nine children: Sherry Fishbaugh (Rick) of Middletown, Chris Fening (Liz) of Canfield, OH; Diane Arant (Matt) of Washington, Iowa; Tim Fening (Elaine) of Terrace Park, OH; Mike Fening (Suzanne) of Middletown; Ed Fening (Diana) of Manassas, Virginia; Tracy Asher (Mark) of Germantown, OH; Brady Fening (Shannon) of Middletown; Lara Moore(Greg) of Hamilton.

She has 26 grandchildren, and three siblings: Norma Porter of Portsmouth, OH; Jerry Lewis of Grove City, OH; and Sally King of Deltona FL. Her sister Alice Bobst, died in 1967. Wanda and Walt took in Alice’s three children: Allen, Nancy and Patty, to raise after their mother died.

Wanda was a registered nurse by training and an artist by inspiration. A woman of syle and substance, she filled those around her with light and joy. The world was a better place for her having been here. She will be missed and remembered.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish – St. John’s Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., (at Bonita Dr.). Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
