Wayne C. Sorrell

Wayne C. Sorrell, 72, of Franklin Township, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Middletown, on October 6, 1934 to parents Curtis M. and Eva (Couch) Sorrell.

Wayne was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, Middletown Shrine Club, and Loyal Order of Moose #501. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Wayne was an avid sports fan and a coach of Women's Softball for over twenty years. He was the first president of the Southwest Ohio Umpires Association

Mr. Sorrell is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Myers) Sorrell; one daughter, Beth (Bob Landrum) Staton of Middletown; one son, Tim (Lynn) Sorrell of Trenton; sister, Betty Rhoads of Middletown; two grandsons, Rocky Staton and Brad Sorrell; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruby Nelson and Kathrine Sorrell.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend C.J. Wells officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
