William C. Church

William C. Church, 83, of Middletown, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on September 25, 1925 to parents William R. and Martha Jane (Borders) Church.

Mr. Church served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was a life member of VFW #3809. He worked for General Electric in Engineering and Development for 35 years, retiring in 1987 and was a member and officer of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (John) Maya; two grandsons, Johnathan Maya and Blake Maya; brother-in-law, Harry (Judy) Daniel; sisters-in-law, Mary (Ray) Martin and Ruth Daniel; special nephew, William Dean; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel (Daniel) Church in December 1990; his parents; brother, Clifford Church; and sisters, Monedith Webb, Maxine Clark and Mae Dean.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Malcolm and Dr. Solomito and the staff of both offices.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 2, 2009 at 2:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Phil Moon officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
