Hall, William Edward
William Edward Hall, of Monroe, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Middletown, on January 27, 1925 to parents William S. and Lieudisa (Sparks) Hall.
Mr. Hall worked as a pipe fitter, retiring from Mound Lab Monsanto in 1988. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Past Worthy Patron of Prosser Chapter #367 Order of the Eastern Star, member of Lincoln Lodge #693 F. & A.M., and the Razors Edge Middletown Barber Shop Chorus. Bill was a member of Blue Ball Presbyterian Church, serving in the past as a Sunday School teacher and elder.
Mr. Hall will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul to all who knew him. His wife Mary and family were the center of his life. Prior to his health problems, he enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, woodworking, and reading his history and science books.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Louise (Brown) Hall; four daughters, Myron Suzanne (Barry) Propps of Monroe, Sharon Louise (Phil) Heffron of Liberty, MO, Kim (Joe) Ramsey of Okeana, and Erin Michele (Dave) Wilkerson of Cincinnati; two sisters, Hazel R. Shatto and Viva Byrd, both of Middletown; two brothers, Pete A. (Angela) Hall of Trenton and Ralph J. (Lois) Hall of Hunter; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Rick) Duff, Shane Propps, Abby Heffron, Erin Heffron, Jamie Propps, Stephanie Ramsey, Charlie Ramsey, and William Wilkerson; and great grandchildren, Adam Duff, and soon to be Madalyn Duff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mabel Jackson, Miva Bluhm, and Merrill Mae Hall; and brother, Okra Jordan Hall.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Reverend David Colp officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Masonic Services at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, American Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Diabetes Association, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
