William E. Laird

William E. Laird, 72, of Monroe, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on July 6, 1938 to parents Edward and Mabel (Kitelinger) Laird.

Bill worked as an engineer for Voith-Sulzer for 16 years. He was an avid golfer and worked at the Crooked Tree Golf Course for 11 years. He served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Laird is survived by his wife, Judy (Drea) Laird; three children, Tim (Julie) Laird, Lori (Jason) Kraus and Dawn (Tommy) Wohlgemuth; mother, Mabel Laird; and six grandchildren, Payton & Breanna Kraus, Rachel & Renee Laird and Grace & Samantha Wohlgemuth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Laird.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
