William Gray Harrison, 86, of Middletown, died on August 23, 2004 at his residence, in the presence of God and his loving wife of 65 years, Esther. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was born in Dover, Tennessee on February 20, 1918 to parents Alva and Mary (Deep) Harrison.
Mr. Harrison retired from Armco Steel Corporation in 1968 and worked with Middletown Knothole Baseball Association for 18 years. He was a charter member of the Middletown Bowling Hall of Fame.
Gray is survived by his wife, Esther Harrison of Middletown; one daughter, Judy (LaVon) Dillon of Ft. Myers, FL; two sons, Dale (Janet) Harrison of Middletown, and Mike (Mary Jo) Harrison of Indianapolis, IN. He has 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Mr. Harrison was one of 15 children and has 2 surviving sisters and 5 brothers.
Mr. Harrison will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 26, 2004 at 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastor Nolan Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
