William H. Shaffer

William H Shaffer, 86, of Monroe, died Thursday, September 4, 2008, at his residence. He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on June 17, 1922 to parents William L. and Marian (Goff) Shaffer.

Mr. Shaffer worked as an accountant for Armco Steel, retiring in 1982 after 41 years of service. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Shaffer is survived by his wife, Dorothy W. (Williams) Shaffer; sons, Bruce W. (Beverly) Shaffer and Barry C. Shaffer; daughter, Cynthia S. (John) Carsman; granddaughter, Courtney B. (Brad) Kifer; step grandchildren, Lea G. (Dane) Zuccaro and Evan E. Carsman; step great grandchild, Soren Zuccaro; special family friend, Thomas R. Goodrich; as well as many other family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
