William J. McMahon, 91, of Middletown, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton, on October 27, 1917, to parents William J. and Elizabeth (Braun) McMahon.
Bill was the owner and operator of Herb Plumbing for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, life member of the B.P.O.E. #257 and was a founding member of the Elktone Chorus. He enjoyed poetry, music, telling jokes and fishing.
Mr. McMahon is survived by his wife, Jean (Kemper) McMahon; son, William J. (Jean) McMahon; daughter, Kathleen J. (Ronald) Molnar; grandchildren, Bill (Amy) McMahon, John McMahon, Bob McMahon, Clare McMahon and Michael Molnar; great grandchild, Carolyn McMahon; nephew, William J. Sweeney; best friend, Desmond Dineen; and numerous other family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Beatrice Sweeney, Rafaella Herb and Dorothy Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, OH 45042.
