William L. Norvell Sr.

William L Norvell, Sr, 80, of Middletown, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer. He was born in Middletown on February 29, 1932 to parents William L. and Miley E. (Coffey) Norvell.

Bill was owner/operator of Norvell's Landscaping for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He also worked at Aeronca for 30 years. He was a devoted husband and family man who loved God, loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Norvell is survived by his wife, Phyllis Norvell; sons, Stephen (Terri) Norvell & William "Butch" (Molly) Norvell Jr.; sister, Iris Vaughn; grandchildren, Aimee (Matt) Higgs, Chad Norvell, Ryan Norvell, Justin Norvell & Amanda Norvell; and great grandchildren, Gabe, Caroline, Isaac & Presley Higgs, Drew Norvell & Lilly & Mia Norvell.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vanella O. Norvell in 2008; parents; sisters, Mildred Vaughn, Christine Coldiron, Esther Roberts, Parry Allen, Rita McDaniels, Catherine & Lillian; brothers, Ray, James & Virgil; and great granddaughter, Isabel Higgs.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Stratford Heights Church of God, 4419 Nelson Rd., Middletown with Pastor Ray Phillips officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
