William W. "Woody" Hayes, 86, of Middletown, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at West Chester Hospital. He was born in Brodhead, Kentucky on December 20, 1926 to parents Albert and Della (Laswell) Hayes.
Woody worked in shipping at Armco Steel Corporation for 40 years. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Hayes is survived by his sons, Doug (Debbie) Hayes & Steve Hayes; step daughter, Debbie (Ron) Morris Sizemore; sister, Hope Jones; grandchildren, Doug (Rachel) Hayes, Jeff Hayes, Mathew (Heidi) Weise, Sarah Hayes & Elisha Hayes, Leanne (Herb) Hood & Heather Helmuth; great grandchildren, Haleigh, Tristan, Riley, Anderson, Alex, Mia, Samantha, Isaac, Carroll, Aidan & Kiaya; and a very special friend, Teresa Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Marie Hayes; son, Mark Hayes; parents; brothers, Owen & Theo Hayes; sisters, Louella Hayes & Sue Hamm; and friend, Paul Fox.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at Grace Baptist Church, 3023 N. Union Rd., Franklin with Reverend Dr. Roger Green officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
