William Y. Puckett

William Y. "Bill" Puckett, 88, of Wayne Township, died Thursday, February 9, 2011, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Hamilton on November 8, 1922 to parents Thomas M. and Dorothy Naomi (Steinour) Puckett.

Bill worked in maintenance at Armco Steel Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1989. He was a farmer, raising cattle & hay and was a member of Jacksonburg United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Puckett is survived by his three children, Thomas W. (Janice) Puckett, Edward C. (Judith) Puckett & Judi (Jerry) Peach; seven grandchildren, William Puckett, Kimberly (Jimmy) Combs, Mark (Becky) Puckett, Chad Puckett, Sheila (Jeff Gebhart) Robinson, Stephanie (Matt) Michael & Natalie (Jeff) McDurmon; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a sister, Carol Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Pauline Puckett in 2008; parents and brothers & sisters, Thomas Dale Puckett, Margie Davis, Dorothy Koontz & John R. Puckett.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties for their wonderful care.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Wes Souders officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
