Wilma A. Gade

Wilma A. Gade, 84, formerly of Ardmore Drive, Middletown, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Mount Pleasant Place, where she had resided since June 2008. She was born in Cincinnati on July 7, 1925 to parents William M. and Frieda (Schenk) Gade.

Wilma graduated from Middletown High School in 1943 and went to work for Oglesby-Barnitz Bank (now Chase Bank) that same year, retiring in 1988. She then began to work part-time in the office of James A. Beatty, continuing to the present time. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ for 75 years, serving on Council, on many committees, singing in the Girls Choir and the Adult Choir. Wilma helped to plan reunions for the Class of 1943 and volunteered for Red Cross and community fund drives. She was always a Cincinnati Reds fan. Her many friends remember her smile and her agreeable nature.

Ms. Gade is survived by her sister, Patricia S. (James A.) Beatty; three nieces, Ann F. (Timothy J.) Gilkey, Elizabeth K. (Lee C.) Banks and Robyn V. Gade; two nephews, David J. (Stephanie) Beatty and Michael J. (Carol) Beatty; four great nieces; and eight great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert W. Gade.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10:00 am at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Susan Jones Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 114 S. Broad Street, Middletown, OH 45044 – OR - Mt. Pleasant Life Care Fund, 225 Britton Lane, Monroe, OH 45050.
