Wilma "Jeanne" Therese Bukosky died on March 17, 2012. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Wilma was born on March 26, 1922 to Stephan and Anna (Belovic) Toth. On July 26, 1947, she married Rudolph Bukosky. They were happily married for 40 years, until his death on February 12, 1988. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter Therese Rose, her parents, siblings Julia Heggi, Mary Toth, Steven Toth, Ann Nicely, Frances Molnar and Elizabeth Slezak, and son-in-law James Seibert.
She is survived by her children Anita (Richard) Scheibert, Marilyn Warmoth (Raymond) Kowalczyk, Richard (Patricia) Bukosky, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Seibert, grandchildren Gloria, Marianne and Alissa Scheibert and Laura Bukosky, numerous nieces and nephews, former daughter-in-law Mary Lee Bukosky, and her ever-faithful grandpets.
Wilma graduated as class secretary from St. John High School in 1939. She was a lifelong member of St. John Parish (now Holy Family Parish) and was a member of the Ladies' Altar Rosary Society. She had a special devotion to St. Therese of the Little Flower, which brought her great comfort.
Wilma was a homemaker whose first priority was providing a loving, safe, and caring home for her husband and children. She occasionally served as a precinct worker on voting days. When her own children were grown, she babysat for several families' children. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and doing various types of needlework. Most memorable are her beautiful smile, friendly personality, and her caring ways. She spent her entire life caring for and thinking of others. Her happiest times were those spent with her family. She had a quiet strength of character that provided an example for her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, the ultimately loving mom and grandma, a caring sister, an aunt to many, a godmother, a friend, and a quietly strong woman. She will remain the heart of our family.
Special thanks to the Atrium Medical Center staff members who cared for our mom and showed such kindness to our family.
