Bryant, Winfred D. "Win"

Winfred D. Bryant, 93, of Middletown, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Lewisburg, West Virginia on September 2, 1916 to parents William and Minnie Jane (Persinger) Bryant.

Mr. Bryant worked for Montcoal Coal Mines in West Virginia and Armco Steel in the Payroll and Stock Transfer Dept. Win served in the Navy during WWII and was a charter member and past master of George M. Verity Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, golf and running errands for his wife. Win was also an avid fan of the "Middies" and could be found at many football, basketball and track events with Midge and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post 218, Jefferson Lodge #90 F. & A.M., The Scottish Rite of Dayton and Middletown, Shrine's Club of Dayton and Middletown, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3809, and Middletown Elks Lodge #257.

Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Midge Bryant, a daughter, Cathy Bailey, granddaughters Beth, Sara and Amy and nieces, Bonnie Prager and Susan Fonseca.

Winfred was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert Bryant; brothers, Earl Bryant and Bill Bryant; sister, Irene Bryant.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Kenneth Fey officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with Masonic services by Jefferson Lodge #90 F. & A. M. at 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with Military Honors by the Middletown Combines Honor Guard.
